Rae and Me, Our Second Annual Christmas Portrait

Rae and I have known each other for almost 50 years. That's counting in previous lifetimes, of course, as neither of us is anywhere near that old.

Revisiting "The Tree" (see 11/11/2006)

Actually got David to stop the car this time around. However, it was drizzling, and the ground was wet, and I did not want to walk across the field (maybe 1/10 mile) to get close enough to the tree so that only sky would be in the background (maybe National Geographic photographer is not my true dream job, huh?). So another visit to the tree is needed, which means another visit to The Cracker Barrel Restaurant and Gift Shop and another chance to shop 'til I drop. Love those rainy days. All in all, I kind of think it looks like an old-time painting. Just needs a couple of brown cows and maybe a vulture in the tree. Anyone please feel free to PhotoShop in your additions and e-mail me your pictures. A new picture tomorrow, not necessarily of the tree. Goal this year is to post a picture a day. Stay tuned. Happy New Year!!

Mothra II, Oil Painted Version

A visit from Mothra's cousin (see way below). Does anybody know what kind of moth this is? It was on our front door the other day (I think this is an Imperial Moth, Eacles imperialis--the field guide shows lots of variations in patterns on the wings).

Andy Warhol Would Be Proud (maybe)

This picture is going to be matted and framed as a gift for Kristofer and Anna. Maybe they will hang it in their new house. The former owner had an oil painted copy of The Scream (painted by his mother) hanging by the front door. Thought I'd try to carry on the tradition of the house.

And The Senators Collectively Exhaled

David helped me chase down this balloon the other day. Not a cloud in sight.
